A Line is a Circle: A Solar Performance, 2025

Part of the Angles of Consequence project. Performed on June 25th, 2025. A solar performance set along the cancelled Energy East Pipeline route.  Artist Sabina Gamez uses a Solarpunk-inspired apparatus made of repurposed materials, co-designed with costume designer Carolie Delisle. Mirrors, lenses, and layered fabrics channel sunlight, tracing a line along the threatened pipeline route as an act of reconciliation and reconnection with nature. Her cyclical choreography invites the audience to slow down, pause, and listen to the land and the Sun. An accompanying soundscape blends altered solar recordings with cicada calls, weaving their voices into a composition that celebrates life, land memory, and the possibility of sustainable futures
